Owner-operators Alex and Brittany Jacobson have always dreamed of having a restaurant on the shores of Lake Pend Orielle, so when the opportunity arose to start a new project and the beloved Beyond Hope Resort, they knew it was meant to be. Both are Sandpoint High School graduates, who started their industry careers in Sandpoint. Alex graduated from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco in 2006. After cooking all over the East Bay for eight years, he moved back to Sandpoint to be close to family and his future wife. They now live north of Sandpoint, in the country, with their two daughters and a slew of animals.
Alex's passion and love of food and cooking shines through his thoughtful, delicious dishes. Brittany is a Sandpoint native who grew up in the industry. With years of industry experience, she manages the front end, business operations and catering. Our bar is managed by Faith Nelson, who has been a fixture at Beyond Hope for years. Niki Chamberlain and Alessandra Cope assist in management and catering, enabling us to provide excellent service, along with delicious food and drinks.
Pearl's is a tribute to Brittany and Alex's oldest daughter, Pearl (7), who is looking forward to taking over the family business one day and is a mermaid at heart. Walker (5) is our head Shirley Temple and french fry tester and hopes that she will have a restaurant named after her by the time she is in kindergarten. Alex and Brittany also own and operate The Pack River Store which has been a Sandpoint staple since 1975.
